25 billion tenge allocated for road repairs in Almaty region

Tengrinews.kz - Authorities in the Almaty region plan to build and renovate 660 kilometers of roads in 2025.

The total funding for these infrastructure projects will amount to 25.1 billion tenge, with 22.5 billion tenge coming from the regional budget, including 2.6 billion tenge in national transfers. According to the city akimat (local government administration), the entire project will be funded by public funds.

What will be built and repaired?

Plans include:

  • 187.8 kilometers of regional roads
  • 472.2 kilometers of district and village roads

Of that, 160.8 kilometers of regional roads and 320.25 kilometers of local roads will undergo medium-level repairs, while 26 kilometers of regional and 22.1 kilometers of district roads are scheduled for major repairs.

District-level projects

In Talgar District, a major bridge repair is planned over the Talgar River, and automated weighing systems will be installed along the Yesik–Kyrbaltabay–Zhetygen road.

In Karasai District, the Almaty–Shamalgan–Uzynagash highway will be reconstructed, along with the bridge over the Almaty River.

In Ili District, authorities will repair the road leading to the Kapchagay Reservoir and construct a new section of Aqyn Sara Street.

In Enbekshikazakh District, the Yesik–Saymasay–Alexandrovka road will receive a major overhaul, and a bridge reconstruction project over the Turgensai River will be designed.
