According to the Akimat, by 9 AM 14 centimeters of snow fell in the city, 22 centimeters on the Kamenskoe Plateau, and 20 centimeters on Shymbulak. This is 26% of the monthly precipitation norm.
Temporary closures of parking pockets are used to clear the streets to avoid parking. 475 units of special equipment and 1115 road workers were involved in cleaning the city.
According to the forecast of Kazhydromet, a drop in temperature to -5-7 degrees during the day and to -11-13 degrees at night is expected. No new precipitation is expected until January 13.
Due to possible icy conditions, drivers are urged to observe the speed limit and distance between cars, and pedestrians are advised to be careful on the roads.
It was previously reported that a heavy snowfall that began on the night of January 8 continues in Almaty.
