Tengrinews.kz launched iPad application

Kazakhstan information portal Tengrinews.kz launched Russian-language application for iPad. The application was presented today, September 14, at Digital Communications Kazakhstan 2011 conference in Astana. “Tengrinews.kz became the first Kazakhstan media to enter the pads market by developing and placing its application for iPad in App Store,” Director General of Alash Media Group holding Batyr Kazybayev said. “The application is 2.2 MB, it is light and traffic-saving. It was developed specially for our website that has a lot of video, photo and audio content and with Kaznet development in mind. The application is free and takes only several seconds to install.” Opening the program a user gets to the iPad version of the website’s main page. Top news are located in the left part of the application’s main window. Latest events are placed in the middle, where latest updates of the website are sorted in chronological order. Opinions are in the right part of the window. It contains blogs of exclusive observers of Tengrinews.kz. Lower part of the application contains videos. The program does not contain any ads, which saves Internet traffic. “Another option the application offers is listening to Tengri FM radio online. The radio works on all pages and does not conflict with surfing the app,” Kazybayev said. Later updates of the application will add the option of commenting and discussing the application's content. Android version of the application is also on the way. Tengrinews.kz application helps keep track of the latest Kazakhstan and world news without ads and without the need to enter the website address in the browser.
