One third of Kazakhstan population uses Internet in 2011

According to the information posted at the official Twitter page of Kazakhstan Minister of Communications and Information Askar Zhumagaliyev, the number of Kazakhstan Internet users made 34.4 percent of the total country population in Q1 2011. Zhumagaliyev's blog also said that only 18.2 percent of Kazakhstan population was using the web in the beginning of 2010. Earlier the Minister of Communications and Information said that the whole Kazakhstan will be covered by high-speed Internet by 2015. The plan involves development of broadband Internet access with the use of WiMax and FTTH technologies, as well as CDMA-450, 3G and LTE.
