Suspicious people detection system may be implemented in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports. Smart Astana concept was presented on November 23. The concept provides mass implementation of innovative technologies in Astana. One of the directions is provision of public security. Astana authorities are interested in the experience of an Israel company that offers to equip Kazakhstan capital with a system of detection of suspicious people. “This system is smart. It alarms law-enforcement authorities if there is a a wanted person in public transport or someone is just acting inadequately or looks suspiciously. The 'alert' signal starts flashing in the bus or any other type of public transport,” chairman of Sime Technology Yelena Razdolskaya said. This company is currently cooperating with Astana Innovations, the structural subdivision of Astana administration, that is instructed to implement the Smart Astana project. According to Razdolskaya, implementation of such intellectual security system is estimated at tens of millions US dollars, but it is worth it. “It works in Israel. If you noted, 10 years ago Israel was on front pages of all the newspapers because of terrorist attacks. It has become quiet there now. Really quiet,” she said. Astana administration is currently reviewing another “smart” solution: switching to social cards that will allow every resident of the city to use one card to pay for public transport, services in the hospitals and drugs in pharmacies. The card may also have all required personal information about the person, including even the clinical record.
