Tengrinews.kz - The Chairman of the Information Security Committee announced a proposal to create a call center that will compile all cases of suspected fraud.

Ruslan Abdikalikov, the Chairman of the Information Security Committee at the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, shared this information during a briefing at the Central Communications Service.

"We propose to establish a separate call center in the country that will collect all instances of suspected fraud. Currently, we are negotiating with the National Security Committee. I believe this call center should be based at the state technical service, as there is already an incident response service available at the free number 1400.

However, this number currently only takes calls regarding cybercrimes. When a person is deceived by a scammer, it is not always a cyber incident, as you understand. Consequently, we will need to expand the staff, which will require additional funding for this center. Given that we have 20 million citizens and numerous cases of fraud, a significant number of operators will be needed to handle the calls," the committee chairman stated.

Furthermore, he mentioned plans to integrate the call center with the anti-fraud center of the National Bank and similar centers from telecommunications operators. In this case, Abdikalikov emphasized that any alert from a citizen will be processed promptly, and if there are suspicions, the SIM card and messenger accounts will be blocked.

"This means that banks will be notified that a specific number belongs to a scammer, and any transactions from that number will be suspended in banking applications. We are actively working on this task. We understand the problem and know how to solve it," Ruslan Abdikalikov explained.
