Kyrgyz railroads buy Kazakhstan-made locomotives, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ). President of KTZ Askar Mamin and Director General of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu Argynbek Malabayev signed an agreement on supply of TE33A Evolution locomotives manufactured in Astana. The documents provides for procurement of 5 locomotives manufactured by Locomotive Kurastyru Sauyty. The factory is one of the biggest transport engineering companies in Kazakhstan. The produced locomotives comply with all the modern requirements in quality and environmental friendliness. The company’s experts are actively working on taking the local product to the CIS and the Baltics markets. A contract for purchase of 6 locomotives was signed with Tajikistan in the end of 2011. The company is currently working on supplies to Mongolia and their certification in Russia.
