Kazakhstan offered Indonesia to create companies for processing agricultural goods, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Nursultan Nazarbayev. “Indonesia is interested in import of grain, flour and cotton from Kazakhstan. We offer to open joint companies for production of agricultural goods at our territory. Indonesia will be able to use all the advantages of the Common Economic Space between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus,” the press-service cited Kazakhstan President as saying during the state visit to Indonesia. At the meeting with the Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Nazarbayev named several directions for cooperation: oil and gas, energy, transport, engineering, agriculture, food industry, pharmaceutics, tourism, small and medium business. The parties noted that further development of interaction between the two countries requires solid contractual legal framework and creation of an inter-government commission. The decision was made to open Kazakhstan embassy in Jakarta and hold Indonesian Culture Days in Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan Culture Days in Indonesian in 2013 and 2014. “We applaud Indonesian chairmanship in ASEAN (Association of SouthEast Asian Nations) in 2011 and hope for Jakarta’s support in enhancing interaction between Kazakhstan and the Organization’s regional forum. We are also ready for expansion of cooperation in the framework of the UN, OIC and other international organizations. We offered Indonesia to become a full member of CICA (Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia),” Nazarbayev said and invited Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to visit Kazakhstan in 2013.
