Kazkahstan Engineering LLP plans to sell by the end of this year 7 helicopters assembled in Astana in partnership with Eurocopter, Bolat Smagulov, Head of Kazkahstan Engineering, announced today, April 22, Novosti – Kazakhstan reports. Last October Kazkahstan’s PM Karim Massimov informed that a JV to assemble Eurocopter vehciles woule be launched in Astana. According to him, the 2011 state budget envisaged placement of the first orders, notably “flying hospitals”. “This year we plan to supply 7 helicopters for the Defense Ministry, Emergency Ministry and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Railways Operator”, Mr. Smagulov told journalists, adding that “cost of every helicopter will depend on its configuration”. The JV between Kazkahstan Engineering LLP and Eurocopter seeks to assemble and maintain ЕС145 helicopters. The two sides agreed on launching a JV last October duting the visit of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to France.
