Tengrinews.kz - The Bureau of National Statistics has released information on the wages of salaried employees in Kazakhstan for the fourth quarter of last year. The data also includes small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities.
According to the report, in Q4 2024, the highest salaries were recorded in the insurance and financial sector, where employees earned an average of 890,573 tenge.
Workers in the mining and quarrying industry followed closely, with an average salary of 856,521 tenge. The average wage in the industrial sector as a whole was 545,797 tenge at the end of the year.
Employees in the information and communication sector earned an average of 809,564 tenge. Meanwhile, the professional, scientific, and technical activities sector offered salaries averaging 614,101 tenge.
In the transport and warehousing sector, workers received 532,752 tenge.
The lowest salaries were recorded in the following industries:
- Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries – 270,082 tenge.
- Water supply, sewerage, waste management, and pollution control – 274,994 tenge.
- Arts, entertainment, and recreation – 291,282 tenge.
Among cities and regions, the highest average monthly salaries, including data from small enterprises, were observed in:
- Atyrau region – 593,653 tenge.
- Ulytau region – 582,943 tenge.
- Mangystau region – 564,014 tenge.
- Astana – 548,579 tenge.
- Almaty – 533,365 tenge.
"The average monthly nominal salary per employee is determined by dividing the total accrued wage fund by the actual number of employees and the number of months in the reporting period," the Bureau of National Statistics explained.
