Kazakhstan Government adopted a comprehensive plan of development of Zhanaozen for 2012-2015, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Prime-Minister’s press-service. The plan provides for implementation of 26 infrastructural projects, including construction of schools, hospitals and kindergartens. 900 new jobs will be created for doctors and teachers eventually. Construction works are currently in process, unemployed residents of Zhanaozen are getting involved in constructions works via employment authorities. 80 people are currently involved in construction works. The government commission is also working to employ oil workers fired in Zhanaozen and Aktau. “Today, the fired employees of Ozenmunaigas understand that the solutions suggested by the government commission and KazMunaiGas national company are acceptable and real. For example, the number of former employees who applied for new jobs in the new company increased from 12 to 434 people on December 28-29,” Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection Birzhan Nurymbetov said. He also noted that considering the current speed the employment of fired workers could finish in January 2012. Earlier Kazakhstan Interior Ministry’s press-service reported that the situation in Zhanaozen is stable and under control of law-enforcement authorities.
