German companies are ready to invest into construction of a plant for production of freight wagons, Tengrinews.kz reports citing head of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (national railroad company) Askar Mamin. “We are currently working with German companies on production of freight wagons in Karaganda plant with capacity of up to 6 thousand units per year. We are negotiating a funding from German investors,” Mamin said. This plant was one of the projects presented to Nursultan Nazarbayev during his official visit to Germany . There were around 30 such projects . Head of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy also told about the situation with production of passenger wagons. He noted that Astana plant for production of high-speed passenger wagons is planned to reach its full capacity of 150 wagons per year next year. Thus, the company is planning to cover whole the Kazakhstan market with high-speed passenger trains by 2015. This will help halve travel time in Kazakhstan.
