I am hereby instructing the Environmental Protection Ministry to develop a concept of the EXPO-2017 and submit it for approval of the state commission not later than the second quarter of this year. I also instruct all the Akims of the oblasts and cities, administrations of Astana and Almaty to develop and start implementing plans for creation of regional innovative systems,” the President said. This is a great honor for Imangali Tasmagambetov (Astana Mayor), but the city cannot do it alone. I instruct the government and Samruk-Kazyna fund to ensure that power to the exhibition facilities is supplied from alternative energy sources. For example, this can be done using the wind park in Yereimentau. We are building it. Use solar batteries that we have already started producing. Also use other energy innovations that we also have,” President noted. According to Nazarbayev, an EXPO fully powered from alternative energy sources will become the first step to to the third industrial revolution. By Baubek Konyrov
