Aktau architects suggested building a cable way to the sea

Aktau architects have suggested construction of a cable way and an underwater restaurant at the Caspian shore, Tengrinews.kz reports citing acting head of the Architecture and City Planning Department of Mangistau oblast Kalybek Kenzhaliyev. The concept of reconstruction of the slope to the sea from the building of Yessenov Caspian State University of Technology and Engineering has already been completed. The length of the descent will be about 800 meters. It is suggested to build the cable road to make the descent more comfortable. The concept also involves construction of underwater restaurant next to the seashore. Visitors will be able to watch the underwater world during their meals. “The descent is currently not very popular among residents. It is not in a good condition and is mainly used to walk dogs. Aktau is the only sea-side city in Kazakhstan, we have to take advantage of it,” Kenzhaliyev said. The descent is currently crossed by three roads. Architects suggested to make three pedestrian overcrossings. The plan also have several fountains with water cascading down to the sea. It also envisages shops and playgrounds for children. Implementation of the concept will be possible only in case of availability of investors. According to Kenzhaliyev, they are already interested in this project. By Dmitriy Hegai
