A botanic garden with the total area of about 100 hectares will be constructed on the left bank of the Ishim River in Astana city, the official website of the city’s Akimat (administration) writes. It is going to be yet another tourist attraction in the capital of Kazakhstan to be constructed before the EXPO-2017 international exhibition that Astana will host in 2017. The botanic garden will be situated inside the block surrounded by Kabanbay Batyr Av., Turkestan Str., and No 24 Str. and No 26 Str. The project was developed by the state-run Institute of Botany and Plant Introduction. It has already been submitted to the Environmental Ministry of Kazakhstan for evaluation. There is no information on the cost of the project yet.
