Tengrinews.kz – At its California conference, Meta unveiled three versions of its new smart glasses. The company highlighted key features and shared initial reactions from social media users.
Meta’s AI-powered glasses are built around three main principles: they should be lightweight, comfortable, and stylish; the technology should be unobtrusive, appearing only when needed; and the glasses should improve over time as artificial intelligence evolves.
Meta Ray-Ban Display
The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses combine the iconic Ray-Ban style with the new Meta Neural Band. The display is large enough to read text messages or watch short videos but disappears after a few seconds when not in use to avoid distraction. It works well both indoors and outdoors, even in bright sunlight.

These glasses come with a Meta Neural Band bracelet, which controls the glasses through simple hand gestures. The glasses have an 18-hour battery life and are water-resistant. The Meta Ray-Ban Display will be available in the U.S. on September 30 for $799 (approximately 433,000 tenge), including the bracelet.
Oakley Meta Vanguard
Following the success of the Oakley Meta HSTN, Meta introduced the Oakley Meta Vanguard. These glasses feature a 122-degree field of view, a 3K video recording camera with stabilization, and new shooting modes, including Hyperlapse and Slow Motion. The glasses are water-resistant with IP67 protection, meaning they can withstand sweat and brief immersion in water up to 1 meter deep. The glasses have interchangeable lenses for different lighting conditions.
The Oakley Meta Vanguard will be available in the U.S. on October 21 for $499 (around 270,000 tenge).
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2)
The second-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses offer double the battery life of the previous version, with up to 8 hours of use, and support 3K Ultra HD video recording. A new feature, Conversation Focus, will enhance the speaker’s voice in noisy environments, such as restaurants or concerts, using the glasses’ speakers.
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses are priced at $379 (approximately 205,000 tenge) and are available for purchase on Meta.com and Ray-Ban.com.
Audience reactions
During the demonstration, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg attempted to showcase the Neural Band controlling the Ray-Ban Display glasses but encountered issues with a video call. These glitches were attributed to Wi-Fi problems.
