Kok-Zhalyau is one of the most easy-accessible and closest to Almaty place where one can see the real beauty of Zaili Alatau: a glorious panorama of the mountains and the city, a beautiful waterfall, uplands with edelweisses (the flowers of power and courage). 40 minute-drive on No.6 bus, two hours of walk and you are there. Unfortunately, Almaty residents and guests might lose this piece of nature: there is a possibility that a ski resort with its infrastructure, houses, fences and toll bars will be built at Kok-Zhailyau.
