A training for officers of engineer squad was held at the training center for engineering corps in Almaty oblast. This training center is the only engineering polygon in Kazakhstan. It was considered one of the most well-equipped centers in the Soviet time. The officers of engineer squads get an opportunity to train a wide range of engineering skills. Ideal landscapes and soil, availability of fortification facilities, a river with different bottom shapes and high stream speed allow for improving of skills of different types of troops.
The engineering squad took part in different trainings. In the beginning of 2000s the militarymen were involved in elimination of consequences of a fire in Tokrau village and were awarded with certificates of honour and pendant of the Defense Minister for the displayed courage.
In the period between 2003 and 2008 the officers were part of Kazakhstan peace-keeping battalion performing international mission disarming explosives in Iraq.
During the whole period the engineer squads neutralized around 4 million missiles, rockets, armament and other explosives.
