Thai capital Bangkok may drown, as flood-gates and dams are unable to sustain the flow of water. Experts suppose that in case of the worst scenario Bangkok will be totally flooded. According to weather services, near-river regions may go 2 meters under water, 25 percent of the city may be 1 meter under water and other areas will be flooded by 10-12 cm.
Several Thai provinces remain flooded, including a popular tourist destination Pattaya. After 15-hour rain the streets turned into rivers, first floors of the buildings are flooded and cars are half drowned in the water. Transport is almost paralyzed in the city.
Thais enduring the nation's worst floods in decades have faced marauding crocodiles and threat of snake bites and electrocution, but health experts say the top risks are drowning and disease.
