Despite of the fact that many countries cut social support of the population during the crisis and during the period of limited resources, Kazakhstan kept increasing pensions, salaries of state workers and other social payments, Karim Massimov writes in his Facebook. Last September Prime-Minister noted at the meeting of Nur Otan party that the Government was developing the system of population’s social protection. Compared to 2007, an average pension grew 2.6-fold and made 27,665 tenge ($187). One-time allowance for child birth was doubled on January 1, 2008 (up to 30 MCI, approximately $250). The child care allowance more than doubled. In 2011 the allowance for giving birth to the fourth child and on was increased more than 4.6-fold compared to 2007. “Evaluating these results, I think that we can talk of implementation of important parts of the social platform of the party, despite of the fact that it was formed in the good pre-crisis period, but had to be implemented during the terrible global crisis,” Massimov noted. The salaries of public sector employees doubled between 2007 and 2011, including a 25% increase in 2009, a 25 percent increase in 2010 and a 30 percent increase on July 1, 2011.
