Standard & Poor’s has retained Kazakhstan’s long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings at 'BBB+/A-2', Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing the agency’s press-release. The outlook is stable. Kazakhstan’s national scale rating is affirmed at 'KzAAA'. The transfer and convertibility assessment have remained ‘BBB+’. S&P notes that Kazakhstan’s ratings are supported by its high budget indicators and fine external balance sheets, significant natural reserves, as well as a high and noncyclical inflow of foreign direct investments.
