The National Bank of Kazakhstan has issued the Year of Dragon commemorative coins with a nominal value of 500 tenge, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the official website of the bank. 3000 gold and 5000 silver coins have been issued. “The coin is shaped as a dodecahedron. Mythological symbols of star constellations are depicted in the central part of the obverse of the coin. The Dragon as an Oriental Calendar symbol of 2012 is depicted in the central part on the reverse of the coin,” the National Bank’s press release reads. The coins are made from triple nine gold and sterling silver. The gold coins with a diameter of 21.87 millimeters weight 7.87 grams. The diameter of the silver coins is 38.61 millimeters and the weight is 31.1 grams.
