Tengrinews.kz - The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance informed Kazakhstanis about new requirements for making payments to the budget.
As reported by the State Revenue Committee, new requirements for paying taxes and other payments to the budget came into force in Kazakhstan on January 13, 2025. The introduction of the international standard ISO 20022, implemented by the National Bank, will affect all payment systems of the country, as well as the information systems of banks and other participants in the payment market.
What has changed
The changes concern the rules for making non-cash payments and transfers of funds in Kazakhstan. Among the main innovations is the introduction of a new form of payment order for paying budget payments. One of the most important changes is the mandatory indication of the 'Actual payer' in payment orders.
Now, when paying taxes, legal entities that make payments for their branches or divisions must indicate the name and BIN of the corresponding division. If the payment is made by a bailiff for the debtor's obligations, it is necessary to indicate the full name and IIN of the debtor.
Errors in filling in the 'Actual Payer' column can lead to incorrect crediting of funds and the formation of debt. Therefore, it is very important to carefully monitor the correctness of filling out payment orders.
What to do
Taxpayers are advised to strictly comply with the new requirements specified by the National Bank, and if questions arise, contact the servicing second-tier banks.
Recall that in January it was reported that all commercial banks in Kazakhstan switched to the new international standard ISO 20022 for data exchange between financial institutions.
ISO 20022 is an international standard for data exchange between banks and financial institutions. It defines unified rules and message formats used in transactions.
The transition to ISO 20022, according to the National Bank, will improve the security, transparency and efficiency of financial transactions, while maintaining the already high standards of quality and speed of payment processing.
