Kazakhstan’s 2013 external debt figure grows from $136.922 billion to $148.753 billion
Kazakhstan’s external debt in 2013 grew from $136.922 billion to $148.753 billion, according to the country’s Central Bank.
The Bank elaborated that the debt of the country’s banking system decreased for the period by 17.5% down to $11.160 billion.
The share of public debt and debts guaranteed by the government decreased from 4.3% to 4.1% of the overall external debt amount, with the debt not guaranteed by the government growing from 95.7% to 95.9%.
According to the Bank, as of January 1, 2014 intercompany debts accounted for 48.9% of the external debt figure.
