Kazakhstan’s income per capita should reach $15 thousand in 2018, Bnews.kz reports citing Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Kazakhstan Guangui Lee as saying during a presentation of the country partnership strategy for 2012-2016 in Astana. “Kazakhstan is the country with above average incomes by international standards. Kazakhstan is on the threshold of joining the high incomes countries. According to ADB standards, this makes $12 thousand. Considering the inflation, that will reach 13 percent and will have an effect on the calculations, it will mean that the incomes will reach $15 thousand in 2018 in Kazakhstan provided that Kazakhstan maintains the economic growth of 6-7 percent per year,” Guangui Lee said. The ABR also announced its plans to invest around $1.6 billion into Kazakhstan’s infrastructure, in modernization of roads in particular. Meanwhile, the average wages of Kazakhstan residents made a little over 100 thousand tenge ($667) a month as of July 2012.
