Kazakhstan and Japan are considering an agreement on liberalization, support to and protection of mutual investments, Press Service of the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade reports. Minister of Industry and Trade Asset Issekeshev met Japan Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yukio Edano heading the delegation of Japanese businessmen to Kazakhstan. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, “the talks focused on prospects of the economic cooperation between the two nations”. According to Minister Issekeshev, “Kazakhstan expects to launch joint technology-intensive projects in partnership with Japanese companies and is ready to support investors within its new industrial policies”. According to Newskaz.ru, from 1993 to 2011 gross inflow of investments from Japan made up $4billion. As per JICA, the trade turnover between the two nations from January to November 2011 made up $ 1 553 000 000. 45 businesses with Japanese capital are operable in Kazakhstan as of today.
