Kazakh-Swiss Business Council launched in Zurich

October 24 Zurich hosted signing of the agreement to launch a Kazakh-Swiss Business Council, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the Foreign Ministry’s Press Service. According to the Press Service, the agreement was signed by KazAtomProm’s (National Nuclear Company) Chairman Vladimir Shkolnik and Peter Spuhler, CEO and owner of Stadler Rail Group. The Council comprises Atameken Union, Kazakhstan's most prominent business lobbying group; Kazakhstan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry; largest national companies of Kazakhstan; Economiesuisse Swiss Business federation; Swissmem, an association of mechanical and electrical engineering industries; Osec, Switzerland's official promotion agency for foreign trade; a number of Swiss companies. The sides discussed prospects of the further operations of the Council and agreed to hold sittings twice a year. The Council will be working to draw new members and define prospective projects. The first sitting is to be held in Kazakhstan in 2013 on a visit of the President of the Confederation to Kazakhstan.
