KazAgroFinance has lowered the interest rates on agricultural vehicles leasing from 12.8 to 5.8 percent prior to the sowing campaign, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the company’s press-service. “The villagers have started buying new vehicles at better conditions. The interest rate on leasing agricultural equipment and special vehicles has been made 5.8 percent versus the previous 12.8 percent per annum,” the press-service writes. Applications for procurement of over 1 thousand vehicles worth over 12 billion tenge ($80 million) have already been submitted to KazAgroFinance during preparation for the spring sowing campaign. According to the subsiding rules, the state undertakes to compensate 7% of the general financing rate to agricultural producers. According to the state program of the agricultural complex development for 2013-2020, starting from 2013 financial improvement of the companies becomes a new direction in the state support to agricultural producers. The improvement is performed by subsiding a part of the interest rate on the contracts signed with KazAgroFinance for leasing of agricultural equipment and special vehicles. The period of subsiding is 3 years with the option of its prolong it by up to 7 years. In general, considering the existing demand, KazAgroFinance expects to purchase over 1 thousand of agricultural vehicles during the sowing campaign of 2013. The contracts are signed both with Kazakhstan manufacturers and suppliers of agricultural equipment and with foreign partners. In particular, the plan is to purchase over 300 Belarus tractors manufactured by SemAZ. According to the press-service, during the whole period of its activities the company has financed the purchase of over 21 thousand units of different agricultural vehicles and processing equipment worth over 188 billion tenge ($1.3 billion).
