The Akim (Mayor) of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yesimov talked about overhauling the city budget due to devaluation of tenge, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of the Almaty Akimat (Municipal Authorities). “Almaty Maslikhat (Executive Committee) has adjusted the city budget for 2014. The new amount is $2.1 billion. The new amount for the real available budget is $1.7 billion. The devaluation related increase agains the old version of the budget made $85000,” the report said. Social security payments are going to adjusted as well. Extra funds are being allocated for this matter. Akim Yesimov urged all the Maslkihat members to control prices for socially important goods.
