Financial Supervision and RFCA Commissions created in National Bank

Commissions for Regulation of the Regional Financial Center of Almaty (RFCA) and Financial Supervision have been created in Kazakhstan's National Bank, Novosti-Kazakhstan reports. Chairman of the National Bank Gregory Marchenko said that Kuat Kozhakhmetov was appointed head of the Financial Supervision Commission and Darkhan Nurpeissov was appointed head of the RFCA Commission. Earlier Kozhakhmetov served as deputy chairman of the abrogated Financial Supervision Agency and Nurpeissov served as deputy chairman of the RFCA. April 13 Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev issued a decree to abrogate the Financial Supervision Agency, the country’s banking sector regulator, and the Agency for Regulation of the Regional Financial Center of Almaty. Their respective functions have been transferred to the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
