Tengrinews.kz - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during his official visit to Belgrade, held talks with Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic.

During the meeting, President Tokayev highlighted the fruitful discussions he had with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

"We highly value our longstanding partnership and multifaceted ties with Serbia, which are based on strong bonds of friendship and mutual understanding. Today, we witnessed the signing of several important intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements in areas such as space, telecommunications, agriculture, defense, education, and tourism. Our regular political dialogue and economic cooperation at various levels align with our core interests," Tokayev said.

The President urged the governments of both countries to work together on implementing these agreements, particularly focusing on major economic projects that could significantly boost bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

Tokayev expressed confidence in the role of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Business Council in advancing these goals.

He also assured that Kazakhstan's government is ready to fully support Serbian businesses investing in the country.

Prime Minister Vučević acknowledged Serbia’s keen interest in learning from Kazakhstan’s political and socio-economic reforms. He emphasized the importance of expanding ties across several promising sectors.

Vučević reiterated Serbia’s commitment to increasing trade turnover and strengthening trade, economic, transport, logistics, and investment ties with Kazakhstan.

He also highlighted the potential for collaboration in 'green' technologies and energy transition, suggesting regular business forums and cultural exchange events like Serbia Days in Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan Days in Serbia.
