Kazakhstan scientists are suggesting to include two architectural monuments located in Kazakhstan into the UNESCO World Heritage List, Express K writes. Japanese colleagues will help them preserve the ancient monuments. According to experts, medieval city Sauran and Saka burial ground Boroldai have to be included into the UNESCO list. Necropolis is the only monument of the Iron Age preserved in the natural landscape. “October 15 we will visit this holy place with our foreign colleagues. I hope that our joint work will yield results and Boroldai necropolis will soon go under protection of the UNESCO,” Honorary Director of Margulan Archaeology Institute Karl Baipakov told journalists. Only two of 32 thousand architectural monuments located in Kazakhstan are included into the UNESCO list: the Mausoleum of the Sufi Saint Hodja Akhmed Yassavi and Petroglyphs within the Archaeological Landscape of Tamgaly.
