Snow falls in Semey in late May

Snow has covered blossoming flowers in Semey on May 20, 2014, Tengrinews reports.

Despite the air temperature being at 1°C above zero, the wind turned the snowfall into a blizzard creating poor visibility on the roads. Residents of Semey had to get warm clothes out again and turn the heaters on to warn their houses.

Gardeners were especially concerned with this phenomenon. They had to cover their plants that have already started blossoming. Now they are worried about their future harvest, because their blooming strawberry, currants and other plants were all under the snow.
