"On October 17, 2024, adverse meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Temirtau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktobe, Astana and at night in Atyrau," the report says.
Adverse meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, light wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the ground layer of the atmosphere.
"Heavy precipitation (rain, snow) is expected in the mountainous regions of the southeast of Kazakhstan, heavy rains with thunderstorms are forecast in the daytime in the southwest of Kazakhstan. In the north and south of the country, precipitation-free weather is expected. Fog is expected across the country, in the west, south, southeast - increased wind. In the east, southeast, in the center of the republic - ice," the meteorologists said.
They added that precipitation (rain, snow) will occur in most of the territory of the republic.
At night, frosts of 1-6 degrees will persist in the Kyzylorda, Turkestan, Zhambyl regions.
Recently, meteorologists have presented the long-awaited weather forecast for the upcoming winter of 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. According to specialists, Kazakhstanis can expect a typical winter with frequent precipitation and sharp temperature fluctuations.
