Tengrinews.kz - A video of oil stains on the surface of the Caspian Sea has recently spread on social media.
The video shows a black film covering the surface of the water, with murky water mixing with black foam being washed ashore.
Specialists from the Department of Ecology of Mangistau Oblast conducted an inspection on reports of pollution, but by the time they arrived, the pollution had already disappeared. Representatives of the service explained that such stains can dissipate quickly, making them difficult to detect.
Envionmentalists urge residents and tourists to promptly report such incidents and, if possible, not only record such cases on video, but also collect water samples on site. This will help in quickly identifying potential threats, responding to them, and ensuring environmental protection.
