Tengrinews.kz - A video featuring rare animals filmed in the Kolsai Lakes National Park has surfaced online.

The footage was published on the official page of the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife.

"A camera trap in Kolsai Lakes National Park captured rare moments of wildlife. The footage includes animals listed in Kazakhstan's Red Book: a snow leopard and a Turkestan lynx. The first scene shows a snow leopard freely roaming the snowy slopes of the Tien Shan. The second scene features a Turkestan lynx with three cubs in its natural habitat," the statement reads.

As is known, a camera trap is an automatic device designed for covert photo and video recording, triggered by movement within the sensor's range. It is primarily used for wildlife observation, territory protection, and scientific research. Typically, the camera operates both during the day and at night.
