Two people were injured by the strong wind in Kyzylorda oblast, Channel Seven reports. The injured are currently in the hospital.
The 25 m/sec wind ripped off roofs from 500 houses and three schools. It damaged power lines causing blackouts in 10 villages. Average losses caused by the disaster are estimated at 38 million tenge ($260 thousand). Restoration works are in process.
Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that strong wind exceeding 25 m/sec followed by rain and hail hit Almaty on May 17. The disaster caused damage to trees, cars and houses. One man was killed and one woman severely injured with her haunch bone fractured.
