Three people injured in Astana elevator fall

Three people were injured in the fall of an elevator from the 23rd floor of Astana skyscraper, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to Astana Department of Emergency Situations, there were 8 people in the elevator inSevernoye siyaniye (Northern lights) residential compound. Three of them were injured. Galina Chin, born in 1971, has a closed fracture of left ankle, closed fracture of calf bone and maim of right knee. Maria Ukibassova, born in 1968, has a closed fracture of calf bone head. Another injured person, Adiya Dussumbek, 3, has maims of both feet. The injured received medical aid and were sent home. Astana Department of Emergency Situations says that a special commission is currently investigating into the cause of the accident. According to the preliminary version, the elevator fell because of “a failure of braking system's electronics.”
