No Kazakhstanis among victims of Iran plane crashed

There were no Kazakhstanis on board of the airplane that crashed in Tehran, Iran this Sunday, Tengrinews reports citing Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry.

On August 10, the passenger plane of Sepahan Airlines crashed shortly after take-off from Tehran Mehrabad International Airport when heading to the eastern city of Tabas. Only 10 passengers out of total 48 survived, according to IRNA news agency.

An engine shutout is likely to be the cause of the plane’s crash.

Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev sent a telegram to Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani expressing his condolence.

"On behalf of the people of Kazakhstan, I express my condolences to the families and friends who lost their loved ones in this tragic accident as well as to all the people of Iran and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” the telegram said.
