Nazarbayev expressed condolences over Scat's plane crash near Almaty

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the passenger plane crash in the area of Kyzyltu village near Almaty airport, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s press-service. “It was with deep sorrow that I took the news of the crash of the passenger plane owned by Scat airline near Kyzyltu village of Almaty oblast that claimed human lives,” the press-service cites Nazarbayev. “On behalf of Kazakhstan people and me personally I am expressing deep condolences to the families of the victims. I have instructed respective state authorities to investigate the reasons of the crash and render necessary support to the families of the victims.” On January 29 the Bombardier airplane owned by Scat airline crashed during its second attempt to land 7km from Almaty airport. According to the prosecutors, the plane was performing Kokshetau-Almaty flight. The accident claimed lives of 5 crew members and 16 passengers, including a 2-y.o. child and a foreigner.
