Nazarbayev declared national mourning on January 31
Nazarbayev has declared a national mourning on January 31, Tengrinews.kz reports.Opening today's meeting with representatives of law-enforcement authorities, Kazakhstan President mentioned that 21 people died in the plane crash near Almaty on January 29.“I have instructed to form a special government commission that will investigated into the reasons of the tragedy and draw up new measures to enhance flights safety. The government has been instructed to render all-round support to the families of the passengers and crew members killed in the crash. I have decided to declare a national mourning on January 31,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.The meeting’s participants paid a tribute to the crash victims with a minute of silence.Earlier President expressed condolences to the families of the victims.On January 29 a Bombardier airplane owned by Scat airline crashed 7km from Almaty airport during landing. According to the prosecutors, the plane was performing a Kokshetau-Almaty flight. The accident claimed lives of 5 crew members and 16 passengers, including a 2-y.o. child.By Renat Tashkinbayev
