A military airplane has crashed in Karaganda Oblast in central Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the press services of the Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office. One man was killed in the crash. “Military plane MIG-31 of the military department 50185 of the Defense Ministry crashed during a training flight on April 2013 at about 10E p.m. near Prostornoyev village of Setsk Region of Karaganda Oblast. The plane was piloted commander pilot Colonel M. O. Yedigeev and second commander aeronavigator Major R. R. Galimzyanov. The crew ejected themselves from the plane before the crash," the report says. As a result of the accident Yedigeyev died and Galimzyanov was injured. He has been delivered to the hospital. An investigation group consisting of representatives of the Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office, Military Investigation Services of the Central Region and Interdepartmental Commission for Investigation of the Flight Accident is working at the crash site. A criminal case has been initiated over the crash for “violation of flight rules and preparations to flights.” An investigation is underway.
