Rescue teams are searching for MI-823 helicopter with 8 people on board in Almaty oblast. The chopper took off in the morning of November 24 and disappeared, head of press-service of Almaty Emergency Situations Department Zhanat Sembayev told Tengrinews.kz. According to Sembayev, the helicopter owned by Zhezkazgan branch of Euro-Asia Air was rented by Kazakhstan-Chinese Pipeline to fly over Atassu-Alashankou oil pipeline. The helicopter took off the deck No.11 in Alakol region of Almaty oblast. 4 search groups have been formed immediately after the helicopter was found missing. They included militarymen of border troops of Kazakhstan National Security Commission, employees of KazTransOil and SemserSecurity, staff of Almaty Emergency Situations Department and 2 helicopters of KazAviaSpas and Kazakhstan National Security Commission. Besides, people and helicopters the search involves 10 ground vehicles. No results have been announced yet. Nurlan Yessenaliyev entered the Civil Aviation Academy in 2005. Today, on November 26, the search is continued by 4 helicopters of Kazakhstan National Security Commission, KazAviaSpas and KazTransOil. Almaty Emergency Situations Department stated that several search groups worked on the ground on Sunday and two helicopters checked the territory from the air. MI-8 with crew of 5 people on board flew over 60km of the western shore of Alakol lake. MI-844 helicopter of KazAbiaSpas with 4 people on board checked the eastern shore of Alakol lake. According to East Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Department, the search is held in Urdzharsk region as well. “The missing crew has still not contacted us. The search currently involves forces of the Emergency Situations Ministry, Urdzhar region’s administration, military base, oil company and local residents,” East Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Department stated.
