An unusual accident involving very bad math and very lucky people has happened in Almaty. A crane mounted on a truck was moving a heavy 40-ton container, but the crane-man failed to calculate the permissible weight correctly and the crane toppled over dropping the container precisely on the top of a taxi that pulled over in a nearby alley minutes before.
By a sheer luck the taxi was empty when this happened. Both the driver and the passenger stepped out of the car moments before the crash.
The incident was settled peacefully. The weighty container we removed from the roof of the car and the owner of the crane fully compensated the damages to the taxi company.
