Communications have been partially restored in disaster-hit Karatau in south Kazakhstan, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing the press-service of the oblast administration. "Telephones are working in administrative buildings and some of the apartments. Restoration works are under way. Electricity supply is being restored as well: partially via connection of reserve power generators brought over by rescuers and partially via restoration of some of the power lines. Power is already supplied to the boiler houses to maintain heating communications operational," the message states. According to the press-service of the oblast administration, the commission on elimination of the emergency situation's consequences plans to start heating supplies to apartments and social buildings in 10-12 hours.
