On September 12, at around 6:34 PM, 16 students from the public school named after Zhugmagali Kaldygarayev in the village of Beineu reported abdominal pain at the district emergency department.
"In the emergency room, they received oral rehydration and infusion therapy. By 9:43 PM, all 16 children returned home. The students' health is stable. Today, they all went back to school," the Department of Healthcare of Mangystau region reported.
Sanitary and epidemiological control specialists took food and drinking water samples from the school and sent them for analysis.
Previously, a mass poisoning incident among students was recorded in the village of Besshoky, Mangystau region. The incident occurred at School No. 8, where students from the first to fourth grades of the morning shift were poisoned in the school cafeteria.
According to local authorities, doctors examined 460 students, with 377 being placed under outpatient observation. 83 children were admitted to the regional children's infectious diseases hospital, with two being placed in intensive care. These children are now in better condition.
Following the incident, a monitoring of sanitary and epidemiological compliance will be conducted in all school cafeterias across the country for a month.
