Accident at ArcelorMittal Temirtau

An accident happened today at Shakhtinskaya mine of ArcelorMittal in Karaganda oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry. The incident happened in Shakhtinsk town at 02:30 a.m. on February 3. “The rope regulating the shaft doors snapped during production works in the area of the block shaft fan between unit No.2 and unit No.1,” the Ministry’s message states. The accident caused evacuation of 90 people. No casualties were reported. All underground works were suspended. “46 people and 13 vehicles are involved in elimination of the accident,” the press-service states.
