Tengrinews.kz – Free training for teachers in artificial intelligence has launched in Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Education.
A large-scale program aimed at developing teachers’ digital skills has begun across the country. Ahead of the new academic year, the National Center for Professional Development "Orleu" under the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with UNESCO, introduced a new educational program. It is based on international experience and adapted specifically for Kazakhstani educators.
As part of the training, teachers will learn to:
- apply AI tools both practically and ethically;
- craft effective prompts;
- plan lessons;
- develop tests and learning materials;
- create illustrations;
- update educational content and boost student engagement.
“The main idea of the program is that artificial intelligence doesn’t replace teachers — it becomes a reliable assistant in their work. Thanks to this, teachers gain more opportunities for creativity,” the Ministry of Education clarified.
The training is available free of charge on the LMS platform after registering at https://reg.orleu.edu.kz. In the first week alone, around 100,000 people enrolled, and nearly half have already received certificates.
