Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to improve the quality of education at all levels, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s press-service. July 25 the President met with Minister of Education and Science Bakytzhan Zhumagulov. The Minister informed the President on the process of implementation of the state program on education development for 2011-2020. Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to enhance the works on Balapan program, improve the quality of secondary, specialized and higher education. “The level of qualification of teachers has to be improved in secondary education. We have to train teachers of new formation in universities. I passed the President the gratitude of Kazakhstan teachers for pay raise on July 1. Additional payments for higher category will be raised by 100 percent on September 1. All this allows to review education quality at all levels. As for higher education, Nazarbayev University is, of course, an example. I don’t think that there is any other such unique project anywhere else. According to the President’s instructions, we have to improve our leading universities to the level of Nazarbayev University,” the President’s press-service cited Zhumagulov.
