Ministry of Transport and Communications will improve computer literacy rate in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Transport and Communications will work to improve the IT literacy rate among Kazakhstan citizens, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Askar Zhumagaliyev's, Minister of Transport and Communications official statement. “The level of computer literacy makes 43.7% at present. We should continue increasing this percentage. We are going to reach 50% level this year,” Askar Zhumagaliyev said at the government session on February 28. He is planning to continue educating the population of the use of computers with the help of e-gov hubs in the Public Service Centers. The Minister suggested to introduce relevant IT certification standards in schools and universities. Zhumagaliyev said that programs on computerization and improvement of computer literacy will be approved by state bodies and and national companies.
